a medieval minute: women hunting

Women are depicted hunting in many medieval illustrations. Women hunted with hawks and hounds. They are often depicted with bows. Hunting seems to have been a sport that men and women equally enjoyed.

A medieval novel that didn’t include hunting wouldn’t really give a true picture of this medieval pastime. I hope you will read The Viscountess and the Templars and learn more about this important aspect of medieval life.

In the meantime, please consider nominating the book on Kindle Scout:

Women today still enjoy hunting:

About medievalphyllis

I love history and I love writing. I've been working on an historical novel about a medieval viscountess, Ermengarde of Narbonne since 2009. It has been quite a journey and the journey isn't over. Previously I written 6 historical novels for kids, but this is a new challenge.
